Awards

Throughout its long artistic career and with 38 years of existence, Teatro Paraíso has received different awards that recognize the excellence of its artistic project and emphasize its innovative career of audience formation and creation.

Here is a list of the most important ones:

2012 National Award in performing Arts for Childhood and Youth

  • The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has awarded Teatro Paraíso with the National Award in Performing Arts for Childhood and Youth for the year 2012.

    The jury reached a majority decision to award the company the prize “because of the creativity and the variety of stage languages which have been displayed over the last thirty years. Their latest work ‘Fly if you can’ is an example of a committed and rigorous drama for children.” They particularly highlighted “the international scope that the company makes compatible with work that is firmly rooted in its most surrounding area. Their remarkable work in creating new audiences is worthy of special mention.”

Career

  • Alava Provincial Council Award 2001, in recognition of its contribution to the development of scenic activities for children and youth.
  • FETEN Award 2002, for its artistic career.
  • San Prudencio Prize 2005, given by Gasteiz Television Channel, for the most significant cultural project of the city

A Prize of Festival Internacional de Almagro. Best performance III Certamen Internacional Barroco Infantil.

A Prize of FETEN 2013. Best Performance for Early Childhood 2013.

“Fly if you can” show

A Prize of FETEN 2012. Best Costumes and Make-up Award.

“The magic pipe piper” show

Feten prize 2010. Award for the Best Stage Space.

“In the garden” show

    • Feten prize 2006. Best Play for the Early Childhood Award.
    • Festival of Lleida – 2006. Award for the Best Play and Award for the Best Innovative Proposal.
    • Festival of Huy (Bélgica) 2006. Prize of the Belgian Ministry of Culture and Education for its poetic beauty and suitability for the Early Childhood. Best Actor Award for Alberto Mtz. Guinaldo.
    • Festival of International Theatre for children “100, 1000, 1000000 of stories” in Bucharest (Rumania) 2007. Best Play for the Early Childhood.


“Toc Toc” show

Prize of the Belgian Ministry of Culture and Education, for its suitability for the Early Childhood. Brussels 1997.

“My Odyssey” show

Has received seven awards from three National Theatre Contests:

      • XXI Arcipreste de HitaNational Theatre Contest (Guadalajara) – 1999. 1st Prize: Best Play. Best Direction Award. Best Scenic Architecture Award. The Audience Award.
      • II Garnacha de Rioja National Theatre Contest – 1999. 2nd Prize: Best play. Nominated for the Best Direction and Audience Award.
      • III National Competition of the Theatre of the City Medina de Pomar – 2001. 1st Prize: Best Play. 1st Prize of Best Actor.
